Showcase #4

Working for Miamai and being in the lucky enviable position of recieving almost all of our releases it is difficuult for me to choose the items to write about in the Showcase Archive. Previously I have featured items that have personal meaning or relevance to my time on SL, so today I decided to venture into the “darkside” of Monica’s creativity with a look at BlackLabel’s MYDA.

Released back in September 2010, MYDA made it’s debut performance at the fabulous SPLEEN & IDEASM Show and oh how my senses were blocked as I watched this outfit scurry and float around the stage. Based around a tight fitting black leotard MYDA comes to life through the outrageous, and obviously eccentric, collar. Sporaidically encrusted bullions of gold ensure that you do not go unnoticed in even the blackest of nights.

Usually I am not one to favour the dark tones but what I believed sealed the deal was one tiny added accessory – the nails, or should that be claws! It may speak more of what goes on in my own head than Monica’s, but the long shiny lengths of metal exploding form my hands give me a sense of empowerment and maybe even villainiey! And of course how can you be a super-villain if you do not have evil shoe’s to strut your way through the dark dirty streets of crime?? Well MYDA shoes match up perfectly with their sharp edge and design.  *wonders if it is time for dark Emerald to become more prominent in SL*
